Something for Everyone
We have many beginner friendly programs and practices. Some are designed for the public and some for members only. Many programs originally designed for members invite the public to participate at a discounted rate.
1. Beginner Registration - Members may register as new or beginner golfers and request help in arranging casual golf rounds. The staff provides special assistance with membership services to those who need it.
2. Open Tee Sheet Policy - Golfers may view tee sheets to help them arrange matches.
3. Twilight Green Fee Rate - This is another great opportunity for learning golfers. They can start playing after 4:00 pm when the course is less busy and play at a discounted rate.
4. Junior Playing Privileges - We give our junior members excellent playing privileges. They can play anytime with an adult or by themselves on weekdays or after 2:00 pm on weekends.
5. Junior Program (for members and public) - Juniors receive instruction and golf time. Included in the program:
-Swing Basics Lesson (free to junior members)
-Etiquette clinic (free to junior members).
-Additional clinics are given throughout the season.
6. Adult program (for members)- Includes events which are purely social. All tournaments are handicap events and most include a social element following golf. Examples of social elements are dining, dancing, karaoke, wine and cheese, awards night.
7. Ladies Executive and Ladies Program - Ladies run their own executive to raise funds and organize additional social events and tournaments beyond those offered in the regular adult program.
8. Ladies' Friendlies - Five clubs each host a "Nine and Dine" event. Gross and net prizes are awarded by class.
9. Four-class handicap grouping - Our four handicap groups (men and ladies) ensure that members compete among equally skilled players for championship status.
10. Twilight Leagues - Our weekly twilights for both men and women are open to the public. Scoring does not require a handicap and is designed to accommodate both experienced and beginner golfers.
11. Senior Fun Day - Our Wednesday morning fun league for seniors plays using various, usually novel forms of play. A lunch special is available following golf. Non-members of senior age receive discount on their green fee.
12. Senior Interclub Competition - Six local clubs participate. Golfers pay only $10 each time they participate. Net scoring system accommodates all skill levels.
13. Match Play Competition - Net Match Play competition for members is divided into four divisions (ladies, men, men's doubles, mixed). This is a great way for new members to meet other golfers.
14. Valley League (adult) - Participating clubs (five for men, six for ladies) each enter a team to compete at an annual tournament. Restrictions on team composition are structured to represent all handicap classes equally. In addition to free entry into the tournament, qualifiers receive a privilege card entitling them to two free rounds at each participating club anytime during the following year.
15. Junior Valley League - Sponsored by Men's Valley League, the annual junior tournament involves teams composed of two age classes. Junior participants receive cards providing the same privileges as the adult cards.
